The SCC Performing Arts Department and the Jim Widner Big Band have combined their efforts to bring you some of the top jazz educators and performers in the country. This big band camp is designed for enthusiastic instrumental students, grades 7 and older, to learn more about jazz style, improvisation, and performance. The camp is open to middle school, high school, and college students with at least one year of study on their instrument.

The week which runs from Sunday, June 13 thru Thursday, June 17 will include opportunities to work with professional musicians in a variety of settings such as:

  • Master Class
  • Ear Training Classes
  • Improvisation Classes
  • Sectionals
  • Big Band Rehearsals
  • Group Listening

Camp Details
June 13-17, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

A packet with additional instructions and scheduling will be electronically sent prior to the camp. Students will need to bring their own instruments including amps and cymbals (no drums).

Fees and Tuition

  • Individual tuition is $399. 
  • Tuition for groups of 10 or more is $349 per student.

Scholarships
A limited number of partial scholarships are available based on financial need.

Facilities
All events are on campus at St. Charles Community College.

    Center Stage Theatre Performances

    • Individual $10
    • Groups of 15 or more $5

    Refunds for individual tickets can be made up to 15 minutes before the beginning of the show.  Group tickets may receive a refund up to one week before the show.

    Young People's Theatre Performances

    • Individual $15

    No refunds or exchanges are available for Young People's Theatre Performances.

    Workshops and Master Classes
